| | | Home | | Bradley BravesBradley University is a private university located in Peoria, IL and has an enrollment of approximately 6,100. The school was founded in 1897 by a gift from Lydia Moss-Bradley in memory of her husband. Originally it was 4 year high school academy and a 2 year college. In 1920 it disbanded the academy and became a 4 year college. Bradey is a member of the Missouri Valley Conference and has enjoyed a very successful men's basketball program. The Bradley Braves played in the NCAA tournament 8 times in the years 1950, 54, 55, 80, 86, 88, 96, and 2006. It reached the "Final 4" in 1950 and 54 and the "Sweet 16" in 2006. The Braves also won the NIT in 57, 60, 64, 82, and 2008. The athletic name Braves comes from the Peoria Indian Tribe from which the city took its name.
